Sun Café is a very popular vegan, organic eatery in the heart of the San Fernando Valley near Hollywood. Studio City is home to many creative people in the film and music industry and the vegans among them frequent the Sun Café for its creative and delicious (mostly from scratch) items.
Breakfast includes crepes, Belgian waffles, chicken & waffles, Acai Bowls, Fruit & Yogurt Parfait and assorted pastries. The Sun Breakfast Plate is an extensive offering of waffles or French toast, bacon or sausage, potatoes and scrambled JUST eggs (made from mung bean protein). 2 Omelettes, 2 burritos and English Muffin Sandwich or the Breakfast Sandwich.
The current Lunch/Dinner entrees include: A lentil loaf with mashed potatoes & gravy; a Daring Burrito Bowl overflowing with pinto beans, Spanish rice, corn, pico, guacamole & sour cream; Cauliflower Steak with garlic green and red potatoes; Daring Taco Plate served with pinto beans, Spanish rice, onion, cilantro and salsa; Daring Fettuccine Alfredo, gluten-free pasta, peas, creamy coconut and cauliflower, Alfredo sauce, with Daring chicken pieces and vegan parmesan cheese. There are many other mouth-watering entrees and specials too numerous to mention.
A few Appetizers: Mini Nachos, Avocado Toast, Super Sun Nachos, Mini Mashed Potatoes with Mushroom Gravy.
The menu is “pages and pages” (scrolling) long and be sure to check it all out before you visit. Unless you live close to Studio City, so you can return easily, you might miss an incredible offering and regret is never a fun feeling!
It is hard to believe that all of this incredible food comes from one kitchen, but it does. You’ll just have to stop by and wend your way through the staggering variety and creativity. Come hungry and be prepared to leave stuffed and happy!
